Claire Wilkinson
Claire Wilkinson serves as the Regional Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Africa & Europe. Claire supports teams in Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Romania, Germany, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom by driving external partnerships and building support for new programming across the region.
Claire joined IJM in March 2013 as the Field Office Director in Zambia, leading a multi-disciplinary team focused on ending violent property grabbing from widows and orphans. She transitioned to Kenya in January 2015 where she expanded our program combating cases of police abuse of power and sexual violence against children. Claire then transitioned from Kenya to Washington, D.C. to serve as the Vice President of Programs, Africa from 2016 to 2019.
Before working with IJM, Claire spent 12 years as a prosecutor with the Scottish Prosecution Service where she latterly served as a Senior Prosecutor responsible for prosecuting serious criminal offences. From 2008 to 2011, Claire worked in Kigali, Rwanda, serving as the Program Coordinator for Lawyers of Hope, a network of Christian lawyers dedicated to providing free legal representation to those living in poverty. Claire is a graduate of the University of Aberdeen, where she received both her Bachelor and Master of Law degrees.
